Volcano Bay
Volcano Bay is Universal Orlando's water park that was built in 2017 and features a huge Volcano which stands 200ft high!
Volcano Bay has a one of a kind water coaster taking you through the Volcano itself! A large wave pool, plunge slides, tube rides, a lazy river and a no so lazy river that you have to wear life vests for it (it's so much fun though!).
The Tapu Tapu (free, and you will receive one as you scan your ticket into the park) is a wrist watch type of thing (a bit like a magic band at Disney) which is used to "hold" your place in a line, so it works like a virtual queue system. These are very good for the popular rides as they queues can get very long and no one wants to be standing in the Florida heat for hours. There are rides where you can also scan in where they say "ride now". This means there is very little to no wait. You can load a credit card onto the bands which will save you time if you are making purchases around the park - ie, food/drink. You need to have download the Universal Studio's Orlando app, add your credit card and create a pin to use it but it's very useful. If you're purchasing alcohol - you maybe required to show ID.
There are lockers at 3 locations - which can be found in the Rainforest Village (to the left of the park), River Village (to the right of the park and at the back of the park) and Wave Village (font of the park) of Universal Volcano Bay. There are three different locker sizes available: Small ($14) Medium ($20) and Large ($25) (prices could change at any time) Personally we recommend going to the right hand side, either the right lockers or the ones at the back as they tend to be the least crowded as everyone is trying to get a locker at the front of the park.
There are lots of food options at the park, burgers, hot dogs, mac + cheese, kids meals, curry, chicken/ribs, sandwiches, pizza's, salad's, even sushi! Oh, and don't forget the deserts, ice cream, cake, puddings. You can also get an all day souvenir cup - $18.99 where you can fill up the cup all day for free from the Coca-Cola freestyle machines which have over 100 choices to choose from. This is great value for family's as you can certainly share and go back for more once it's done.
Alcoholic beverages are also sold in the park, Beer, cocktails, speciality cocktails, frozen drinks. If purchasing an alcoholic drink and you will be having more throughout the day, you can get a special cup and when you go back for a refill (keep the cup), it will be cheaper for you, ie, purchase at $14.99, refill will then be $10.99 instead of another $14.99 saving you money in the long run.
Towels are charged at Volcano bay, so always take towels with you from your hotel to save money.
