My Disney Experience app or as it's known as, MDE, for short. With the MDE app you are able to add family and friends in your party (useful for when you're booking rides/experiences, add your hotel (if booked directly with Disney), add your park tickets and special event tickets like Mickey's very merry christmas party (you can add these even if booked via a 3rd party, ie, FloridaTix or Virgin for example once they are paid in full). You will notice in the picture to the top right and in the MDE, it shows to make or modify park reservations, however this isn't required for UK based date tickets so you can ignore this. 

You can also book your dining reservations which you can currently book 60 days out in advance. If you are staying onsite you can book your the first 10 days of your holiday and then so on if you are staying longer however if you are staying offsite, ie, a non Disney Hotel, you can only book 1 day at a time. 

Dining reservations required a credit card at the time of booking to confirm your reservation (be sure to add these details prior to booking at it will save you time and grab those reservations that go very quickly) however payment will not be taken at that time (with the exception of a few, ie, Cinderellas Royal Table or dinner shows) if you do not cancel your reservation 2 hours before your allocated time, then each person will be charged $10. You can now search times for a time period rather than 1 day at a time giving you more flexibility. If you are booking a restaurant that is inside a park, ie, Cinderella's Table (Magic Kingdom) or Garden Grill (Epcot), you will need a ticket for the park and you cannot enter without one even if you have a dining reservation. If booking a restaurant at a Disney's Resort Hotel, you don't need a ticket. 

MDE also shows the park maps, showing times of the rides, wait times for characters, dining, memory maker (photos), merchandise check out (only certain stores offer this, but if they do, there will be signs) and you can also do a mobile food order for selected places. 

All the UK based tickets get a free Memory Maker which is where it stores all your photos from WDW, from the rides to the photos taken with a cast member. You then have a select time to download them to your phone/pc/laptop which is typically 45 days however we would advise to download as soon as you can. Before you are in WDW, even if you have the Memory Maker, it will show on the app as if you need to purchase it, however, don't worry as soon as you're in WDW this will change so there is no need to buy it again. 

Magic Bands - These can be used to get into the parks as they act as your ticket. You can link your credit/debit card to your MDE account and use the magic band to purchase items in the store, unlock your room (if staying on Disney Property) Check in for Lightning Lane queues and also virtual queues. These are also waterproof so you never have to worry about getting them wet which comes in very handy at the Disney Water parks especially if you're hungry and don't want to go all the way back to your locker to get your wallet. They are also interactive with nighttime shows with flashing lights and vibrations. You can even become a bounty hunter at Hollywood's Studios! You don't have to have a smartphone to use Magic Bands however it is ideal to get the most out of the Magic Bands as there are updates as well for them. 

There are lots of designs you can choose from and can purchase them pretty much anywhere in Disney World. Most resorts will have some and even some designed to that particular resort but the biggest select will be at the parks. They do vary in price depending on design but typically run from $34.99 + tax. 

It is not possible to purchase Magic Bands directly from Disney anymore as therefore you would need to purchase whilst you are in Orlando. You can purchase from places like Ebay, however you must ensure they are new and unlinked otherwise you will not be able to use them.
