On this page, you will find our experience/review from our time on the Disney Magic Ship.
Prior to Covid, we had never even thought about going on a cruise let alone a Disney cruise however our trip to Orlando had to be moved due to restrictions and so when Disney Cruise line announced that staycations where coming, we thought, why not, lets give it a go.
Not really expecting much as we've never done it before, we have to say we were pleasantly surprised and actually shocked how much we enjoyed our cruise. The ship is stunning and you would never know that its the first ship that Disney Cruise line launched as it's impeccable! Everything is clean, tidy and very fresh looking.
For the price you pay, you really do get a smashing deal as your food is included, breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks, sodas, teas and coffees. Though we did purchase a few alcoholic beverages, the prices we would say were on par with the parks and didn't really feel out of the ordinary. We even tried the 24hr room service and that was just as good!
Whilst the food was included, we did however try Palo's onboard, which is the fine dining restaurant and this was chargeable. Most of the food was really good, though the chicken parmesan wasn't really up to scratch and tasted a bit bland for our liking. The steak was really tender and had very good flavour and the seafood starter was amazing! Even though we were so full already, we couldn't say no to dessert, the Tiramisu was probably the best we'd ever had and would highly recommend it! The chocolate soufflé was nice but didn't knock our taste buds. (Note to our future selves though: don't eat breakfast if you have a 10:30am reservation for Palo's as you won't be able to eat very much even though we sure gave it a go!) 🤣
Once night, we went to the theatre and watched a show which was so good it made us cry! Though the pools are small, we didn't ever feel crowded whilst in them which was a great thing as this was something we were concerned about however should have been more concerned how much we were going to spend in the shops instead! 😂. The slides are great fun and are a must just to see the view as you go round.
The shops do stock a good variety of items such as toys, clothing, bags and wallets as well as a limited section of medication such as pain killers, sun cream etc.
